Two tenure-track faculty positions, UNC-CH Sociology

The Department of Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions to begin July 1, 2026.

"We seek applications from scholars who exhibit a record of strong and innovative research and excellence in teaching. Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. in Sociology or a related field by July 1, 2026. Applications will be considered until the positions are closed, but our review of applications will begin on October 1, 2025. Position 1: An Assistant Professor of Sociology specializing in computational sociology or advanced quantitative methods. The search committee chair for this position is Barbara Entwisle.

Position 2: An Assistant/Associate Professor of Sociology specializing in population health. The search committee chair for this position is Lauren Gaydosh.
