    From the Consortium of Social Science Associations (COSSA):

    The Society for Research Development (SRCD) is accepting applications for their U.S Policy Fellowship Program. This fellowship provides postdoctoral placements for postdoctoral child development experts for one to two years in a US federal or state agency, or a congressional agency, with a focus on child and family policy. 

    Applications are open until January 6, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Based on the fundamental principle that diversity is a strength in our diplomatic efforts, the FAIT Fellowship program values varied backgrounds, including ethnic, racial, gender, and geographic diversity.  Women, members of minority groups underrepresented in the Foreign Service, and those with financial need, are encouraged to apply.

    "Microsoft Research New England is looking for a postdoctoral researcher interested in bringing sociotechnical perspectives to analyze critical issues of our time. They will join a team of social scientists who use empirical and critical methods to study the social, political, and cultural dynamics that shape technologies and their consequences. Our work draws on and spans several disciplines, including anthropology, communication, gender and sexuality studies, history, information studies, law, media studies, organizational and management sciences, science & technology studies, and sociology.

    "This is an ideal opportunity for a new Ph.D. to conduct original research that brings empirical and critical perspectives to bear on a variety of complex sociotechnical issues. Postdoctoral researchers are expected to devise their own research agendas."

    The School of International Service at American University invites applications for an eighteen-month Center for Environment, Community, & Equity Postdoctoral Fellow in Civic Environmentalism.  The Post-Doctoral fellow will work on the "Addressing Climate Through Our Nation’s Service Corps Program" under the project’s Principal Investigator, Professor Dana R. Fisher. They seek a junior scholar with a deep knowledge about civic engagement and activism, and a strong background in both survey and interview research methods to join the project’s research team.

    Position 1: The Department of Epidemiology in the School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh is recruiting a full-time faculty member in the tenure stream at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the area of epidemiologic methods. The candidate may have experience in methods development, the application of advanced methods in health research, or both. Experience with any of the following is appreciated: g-methods, proximal causal inference, “quasi-experimental” approaches, target trial emulation and the target trial framework, and causal graphs.     "As the Project Manager for the Social & Economic Sciences Research Center, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of multiple program evaluation projects. Your duties will include client interaction, project planning and specifications, survey questionnaire and materials design, sample management, and survey implementation. You will ensure project success by effectively communicating with staff about project requirements, monitoring project progress, and managing deadlines. Other duties you will be responsible for include data management, data analysis, quality assurance, report writing, and preparing evaluation reports for presentations. You will work collaboratively and independently to develop grant and service center funding proposals as opportunities arise."

    This opening was first posted on October 1. This is a temporary position expected to end on June 30, 2025. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.

    The Rapoport Doctoral Dissertation Grants are available to all US-based graduate students who are at the point of initiating or are already conducting dissertation research focused on advancing knowledge and understanding of political behavior. 

    Each dissertation will be provided a grant up to $15,000 to support survey research. The money should be used for survey research conducted via an academically recognized survey organization (e.g. YouGov, GfK, NORC).

    Submissions will be due no later than 10/31/2024, 11:59 PM PT.
