"The LEHD group in the Center for Economic Studies is hiring as many as two Economics and Measurement Research Interns. These internships may be of significant interest to undergraduate students in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science. We view these positions as excellent opportunities for students to work directly with microdata, learn about the creation of cutting-edge government statistics, and potentially prepare for graduate school. 

"This role is designed for graduating seniors or recent alumni who are considering a PhD in Economics or a related field. It offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with high-level academic research and large-scale data analysis before entering a doctoral program.

  • Position: Pre-Doctoral Research Assistant
  • Focus: Working directly with administrative data to improve existing data products and create new data products.
  • Key Responsibilities: Data cleaning and management, performing statistical analysis, and assisting with the preparation of research papers and presentations.
  • Desired Skills: Proficiency in R, Stata, or Python; strong quantitative background; and a keen interest in empirical research.
