TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 17th from 12:30 to 2:00 PM EDT
Earlier this year, members of the American Sociological Association (ASA) approved a resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and academic freedom. The ASA Council also voted to divest from weapons manufacturing companies and develop a process for reviewing other investments. Sociologists for Palestine, a collective of ASA members working in support of Palestinian liberation, is organizing a Teach-In on the Boycott, Divest, Sanctions (BDS) movement. Come learn the history of the BDS movement, why economic pressure is critical in the Palestinian liberation struggle, and how sociologists can support the movement.
Register online for the event. See the attached flyer for more information.
