Since its inception in 1934, the Society has offered its members an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss research and attain professional socialization and support in Nation's capital.
Members of the District of Columbia Sociological Society welcome more than sociological scientists and professors who have mastered the field. We encourage and welcome any sociological scholar, including students.
As members of the Society, we strive to open a dialogue based on sociological research and teaching.
We promote sociological research and education as we recognize significant achievements of all members.
We encourage young sociologists and students to pursue their interest in sociological issues in our collective endeavor to improve the human condition.
